Music Producer and Author: Linda Sylvester
Do you suffer from hip, leg, neck, or back pain? Other symptoms of psoas muscle issues are: anxiety, PTSD, Sexual Abuse, fatigue, sleeping disorders, panic attacks, diabetes, OCD, phobias of public speaking, hyperthyroidism, pain in the buttocks, groin pain, pelvic pain, limp or finding yourself continously living in a state of fear without knowing why?
Where is the Psoas muscle located? The Psoas muscle works by flexing the hip joint and lifting the upper leg towards the body.
Why is the Psoas muscle so essential to healing? Some of you might have heard the Psoas muscle as the Soul's muscle. This muscle is our most profound support for our core. If this muscle is weak, so is our core. If this muscle is strong, we have the core strength to live to our highest potential, aligned with our highest possibility. The health of this muscle affects everything we do. When this muscle is too tight or out of place, it is hard for us to bend over to put on shoes or pick up a package, turn to look behind us, sit in a chair or standstill, etc.
When we strengthen our core, our posture is more upright, and it helps us to maintain our balance. Strengthening our physical center also strengthens our inner center. We begin to feel more confident mentally and emotionally. We begin to find our passion for life because we feel safe to express ourselves, literally, a strong core can thrust us forward in life while feeling safe and grounded.
