THE COST OF UNITY Gordon Dabbs, PhD Psalm 133.1-3 Psalm 133.1 (ESV) Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! Psalm 133.1-3 (ESV) Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore. Unity is a sign that God is present among his people. Psalm 133.3 (NLT) Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. Ephesians 2.14 (ESV) He himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility. . . In a divided world, the people of God are meant to be a preview of something better. Unity doesn’t involve ten easy steps. It involves a Cross. Psalm 133.3 (ESV) For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore. John 13.35 (NLT) Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
