S4:EP47 The Psychology of Money: The Steward’s Mindset — Shifting from Ownership to Assignment

In this insightful episode of the Kingdom Business Podcast, we explore the foundational Kingdom principle of stewardship. As believers in business, it’s crucial to understand that God owns it all. We are not owners of our resources, but stewards, entrusted with managing them for a higher purpose.

Scripture: “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” (Psalm 24:1)

In this episode, host Gloria Wesley explains how this Steward’s Mindset transforms our approach to business decisions. From how we manage our finances to how we treat our employees and customers, everything we do is ultimately a trust—something to multiply for God’s Kingdom.

Drawing from biblical wisdom and the powerful example of Joseph’s stewardship in Egypt, you’ll learn how faithful management can lead to lasting impact. Joseph’s wisdom not only preserved nations but positioned him to fulfill God’s greater purpose. In the same way, we are called to steward our resources wisely, not for our own glory, but for God’s Kingdom.

Key Takeaways:

•	Shift your mindset from ownership to stewardship in all areas of your business.

•	Learn to make decisions that align with God's purposes, not just personal gain.

•	Create Kingdom KPIs that measure impact, not just profits.

Prayerful Action: Before making any major spending or investment decision, pray, “Lord, how would You have me steward this?” Let this question guide your decisions, aligning your business with God's greater purpose.

This episode will challenge you to rethink how you view wealth and business. When we shift our thinking to that of faithful stewards, we see our business not as a tool for selfish gain, but as a vehicle for Kingdom advancement.

Tune in now and start building a business that honors God and serves the world.

S4:EP42 Measuring What Matters — From Vanity Metrics to Value

Let’s take a hard look at what you’re measuring in your business. Are you chasing vanity metrics — things like social media likes, foot traffic, or page views that might look impressive on the surface? Or are you focused on value metrics — repeat customers, conversion rates, and client feedback that actually reflect the impact you’re making?

Here’s the key question: Is this metric tied to the value I promise my customers?

Too often, businesses track the wrong outputs. They celebrate activity that feels productive, but in reality, it isn’t moving the needle where it counts. As Jim Collins wisely said, “Good is the enemy of great.”

👉 In this segment, we’re challenging you: Don’t settle for good outputs that don’t produce great outcomes. Let’s explore how to measure what truly matters.

Many small business owners might assume that ADA compliance is only necessary for large corporations, but this is a misconception. Businesses of all sizes must understand and implement ADA guidelines. The ADA established requirements for private businesses of all sizes, which took effect on January 26, 1992, and apply to both for-profit and non-profit organizations. For small businesses, compliance with the ADA is manageable and straightforward. However, failing to comply can result in costly lawsuits and fines, which can have significant financial repercussions for small businesses. Ensuring compliance helps avoid these potential legal issues.

S3:EP22 Are You Really a Kingdom Business?

The concept of business is commonly understood as a commercial activity that aims to generate returns for the owner(s). This is generally viewed within a pure capitalist framework where entrepreneurs start businesses to make a profit and accumulate wealth over the long term. While this perspective is not necessarily wrong, it does present a limited view of business that may unintentionally encourage the natural propensities of the flesh.

As followers of Jesus, Our High Priest, our spiritual transformation should affect our approach to business. We don't view our businesses as personal possessions, but rather as "kingdom businesses" or businesses that belong to the King. This means that we recognize the ultimate ownership of our businesses as belonging to God, and we align our efforts with a higher purpose. This broader perspective on the role of business emphasizes the importance of serving others and making a positive impact on the world.
