What Do You Say When You Talk to Yourself?
We all talk to ourselves, every single day.
But have you ever stopped to think about what you are actually saying?
For a High Blue, that inner conversation can be incredibly powerful.
Your natural warmth, patience, sensitivity and ability to build strong relationships are tremendous strengths.
You care about people. You value harmony. You listen. You support. You naturally think about how your actions affect others.
But sometimes those same strengths can hold you back.
You may put other people's needs before your own. Avoid disagreement. Find it difficult to say "No". Stay inside your comfort zone. Hold back your opinion. Wait for others to take the initiative when you really need to step forward yourself.
That's why I've recorded these High Blue Positive Self Instructions.
They are designed to help you consciously replace limiting patterns with stronger, more confident habits.
You'll hear statements such as:
I expect respect.
I always express my opinion and say "No" when appropriate.
I am willing to reach beyond my comfort zone.
I am willing to take risks.
I initiate conversations and decisions.
I always act on my judgements.
I am quick to take action.
The principle is simple. The thoughts you repeatedly give your attention to become increasingly influential in the way you see yourself and behave.
Don't try to change everything at once.
Choose a small number of instructions that matter to you. Listen to them regularly. Say them to yourself. Feel them. Practise them.
You're not trying to stop being the caring, supportive and relationship-focused High Blue you naturally are.
You're learning to give yourself the same consideration, respect and encouragement that you so naturally give to other people.
You can care about others and still say "No".
You can value harmony and still express your opinion.
You can be supportive and still take the lead.
You can think about others without forgetting yourself.
And one of the most important conversations you'll ever have is the conversation you have with yourself.
