Many of the audios you'll hear here are from our former online school in animal naturopathy which I co-founded with my colleague.
This states required reading but I'm not going to require a thing except your committed participation in your dog's health. If you truly desire that, then these books will be a HEALTHY addition for your learning library!!
The information contained in these audios are not meant to prescribe, diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. This information is provided for educational purposes only.
• I do not tell anyone how much of said remedy or supplement (for example) to give to his or her animals or how often. This is considered prescribing, which animal naturopaths cannot do.
• I do not tell anyone what is wrong with their animals whether we are asked in person or through photos or correspondence of any kind. This is considered diagnosing, which animal naturopaths cannot do.
• I don’t tell anyone how we used various methods to heal our animals as this is considered curing.
• I don’t tell them all the ways we prevent illness – disease and illness prevention is allowed only within the parameters of licensed doctors such as veterinarians and chiropractors.
So what can I, as an animal naturopath, do? Suffice it to say when asked what the difference is between me and a veterinarian my simple response has become:
“Animal naturopaths promote and build health and wellness. Veterinarians diagnose and treat disease.”
Do I know that my approach brings wellness to animals? Yes. The difference is I focus on wellness not dis-ease/illness. The symptoms are merely a roadmap for me.
My role is to encourage, empower and guide you in order for you to have the knowledge to make your own informed decisions for your animals. My role is to point and direct you to resources as well including those that have helped me in my own quest to support my dogs so they thrive.
If you'll take the time to go through these audios and the subsequent ones released to you, I believe all of your questions will be answered.
I created this class based on years of consulting (as well as working in the veterinary industry) so it ought to answer the majority of your questions.
Remember this is for educational purposes ONLY. What you do with this information is solely up to you. I do not have your dog's Health History Form or an Authorization Form to guide you as though this were a consultation.
As you go through the material keep in mind that this is a journey not a destination – for us as much as for you.
Recently it came to light from a veterinarian in the Netherlands that dogs are just as obligate as cats – and he based it upon his own scientific studies and observations. So I am learning it is always best to go with our own gut knowledge any day than what the status quo decides for us to believe. Remember, truth is never dependent upon beliefs or feelings – it simply is.
ALL animals are facultative – they adapt to their circumstances as best they can. It doesn’t mean it is always expedient for them but it is survival. And if they can’t thrive they will do whatever it takes to survive.
My goal is for you to learn how to help your own animals and to guide others with their animals in achieving optimal health so they can thrive not merely survive.
My focus is on the animals’ needs not what humans want to believe or what is convenient for them. So the best way to approach all of these courses is know that we are on a journey together to learn how best to help animals thrive…and that means that we are constantly evolving as we learn new and better ways of achieving this goal. When we learn better, we do better and we share better.
I believe in focusing on the truth based on the needs of the animal. Their reality not our perceived ideals. Their needs not our convenience. Their freedom from the confines of human greeds, needs and beliefs.
My desire for you is to never stop learning - even after you have learned all you desire to learn here. I don’t believe any of us arrive, but rather we keep traveling this journey and sharing what we learn even in the face of extreme opposition. We are salmon after all, swimming upstream through the gauntlet of bears and fishermen.
Yes, it can be hard when others refuse to see the truth and instead desire to vilify you, the messenger so they can hold onto their on accepted beliefs even in the face of the obvious and blatant facts, logic, truth – reality. That is the path we in naturopathy have chosen – for the animals and their wellbeing.
Be courageous and by all means, enjoy the journey because it is so worth it!
