What else can you expect in this genius kid video: -problem solving -critical thinking -practical imagination -creativity -manual dexterity -self-confidence -introduction to art I know it's hard to find great YouTube shows for kids. These videos are real-life learning videos about numbers, colors, animals, art, fostering imagination, play-learn-time, concentration, and other skills kids can develop at a very young age. This is not a follow the leader video where kids see a tutorial. This educational kid’s video helps kids think and use their imagination to build problem solving skills and build self-confidence. Instead of relying on adults or big-year-olds, kids can see the goal, think of what to do, ask for help in acquiring the materials, and use their imagination to create something. Kids don’t have to create the exact thing they see in the video, they can create whatever they want. The adult can participate by helping them in material acquisition and supervision. For example, getting them glue or tape, and making sure they don’t eat the glue! When they are done, praise them, highlight their work by highlighting it, and placing it on the table or someplace visible. Tell the genius kid to do another one. Don’t correct or judge. Elephants are BIG Elephants are the largest mammal that lives on land. They can grow over 13 feet tall and they can weigh up to 15,000 pounds. They have a very big brain and a great memory. They can remember many things for years! Even though they are so big, they are still gentle and emotional creatures. 3. African elephants have much larger ears that look sort of like the continent of Africa, while Asian elephants have smaller, round ears. Their large, thin ears help them cool down when it’s very hot. 5. Elephants live in Africa and Asia While elephants are common in zoos all over the world, they naturally live in Africa and Asia. Elephants prefer to stay near water, but can also be found in savannas, marshes, deserts, and forests. 6. Elephants are HERBIVORES Elephants don’t eat meat, they only eat plants. Because an elephant is so large, it needs to eat a lot of plants to get full. Elephants can spend up to 16 hours a day collecting and eating leaves, twigs, bamboo, and roots. 7. Elephants have long strong TRUNKS Their trunks can grow to be about six feet long, and can sense the size, shape, and temperature of anything they touch with it. Elephants use their trunks to help them lift up food, or to suck up water and pour it into their mouth. Some elephants also have tusks and they use their tusks to help dig for water. 8. Elephants live in HERDS Female elephants spend their entire lives living together with other females and calves, or baby elephants. These family groups are called herds and the leader of the pack is usually the oldest female. The leader is known as the matriarch. Male elephants live with the herd until they are about 13 years old. Once they get to this age, they leave the herd and live alone for the rest of their life. Elephants can live up to 70 years old in the wild. 9. Elephants can SWIM Elephants are really good swimmers and they use their trunk as a snorkel underwater. 10. Elephants can easily get SUNBURNED Elephants also get sunburned, which is why they like to be in the shade and often use their trunks to put sand on their backs or like little children they like to roll in the mud to protect their skin from the sun. 11. Elephants don’t need much SLEEP Elephants only sleep about four hours per night and they even spend half of their sleep standing up. This book has a simple but powerful moral and the illustrations are amazing. It's a 7-minute long read, but your kids will be very entertained and they'll enjoy every minute of it. It’s perfect for kids from two to ten years of age. I also like to add classical music in the background to my videos, it helps stimulate your child's brain. Why am I recording these videos? The coronavirus has forced us all to stay home. I originally started recording these videos for my nieces and nephews, but I hope your kids enjoy them too! In this free video I introduce Ana and Alex and children learn many things about them, including their favorite activity, animal, fruit and color, always using the letter "A". There is a lot of repetition, emphasis on phonics and we learn many new vocabulary words along the way. It is meant to be a fun game but at the end they will learn their ABCs in Spanish. Please tell me if your kids liked the video, if the pacing is right and if they added new words to their vocabulary. This is the first time I make a video using PowerPoint, so give me your suggestions and feedback. I'd love to improve! These videos are made for my nieces and nephews during the time of quarantine, but I hope your kids enjoy them too. It is important for children to speak more than one language and if you start them at a young age, they will learn. It is illustrated by Gerardo Meza and here I use the original illustrations in watercolor while reading the story. It's a short 5-minute read with a powerful message of the importance of imagination and dreams.
