Matthew 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord, “ will enter the kingdom of heaven. but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Doing the will of his father oriented Jesus’ whole life. Jesus was always available to do the will of his father. A lack of availability is one of the greatest obstetrical that keeps us from being like Jesus. Life can be so busy, so packed full of stuff to do. Not that you don’t want to do the father’s will, it is just there is no time. What would it look like if we planned to put what God wants ahead of whatever we have planned? The goal of this week is simple to give God priority in your day. 1. Make a commitment This starts by simply stopping saying I might and start saying I will. Pray that you will be available to whomever God shows you today. when an opportunity comes and you think you do not have time, remember your prayer, your commitment to God this week. 2. Create a reminder some times before you know it, your day is over and I have forgotten the commitment i made. set an alarm on your phone to sound every few hours, put a note with your lunch, get a reminder app on your phone, tie a piece of string around your wrist. 3. when you see an opportunity to encourage someone or restore value, call it out. Tell them. If you see a positive God-given trait, tell them “you are a great worker”, “It is so cool that you volunteer” ex: It may feel a bit? Awkward because you are not used to encouraging people. That is OK if unsure, ask “Lord if this opportunity is for me “and go for it. 4. Act write the names of the people you encouraged and how you called out the value in their lives. . what did you find most difficult about this week? .Did you miss any opportunities? . What would it be like to be available every day

He had great compassion for those who were hurting. He grieved with those who were grieving. But sin did not shock him [ Jesus knew the sin was from a broken relationship] Jesus offers a relationship. This was his solution to sin. The things people do often shocked us. The News we hear, the way people behave, people doing things that hurt others. when we feel this way, we need to remember they are just like us, imperfect people loved by God shown Grace by the one who made them. our debts cost God the same as theirs this week’s goal is to put that attitude into action. This is not to talk to people about God. Be ready to give answers honestly if asked 1. Start each day in prayer confess your sins and thank God for his forgiveness. Ask God to let you see others how he does Ask God to show you, someone, today that makes you uncomfortable or that shocks you. tell him you are ready to respond. 2. be ready for God’s prompting keep your eyes out for the people God puts on your heart that challenge you. 3. Ask questions approach them with an open heart Ask questions be curious you do not have to ask about the things that challenge you just start a conversation like you would anyone you would like to know better 4. communicate value As you learn about the people you communicate with this week, look for something worth praising. Tell them what you appreciate about them 5. as last week take notes. Names, what you learned about this person, speak to as many people as you can.

Week 4 Fringe Challenge

School https://barakcentre.heightsplatform.com Luke 5:13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean” and immediately the leprosy left him. Jesus called out the imago Dei Gods image in everyone. Some of the most unlikely people Jesus called out the masterpiece out of the dirt and rubbish. Put your selves into the man with leprosy shoes, segregated from family friends and most of society, just by touching you. You could become an infected unclean and an outcast. What would someone reaching out to touch you feel like? How much value would that single touch have? Could that one-touch help restore your de-valued soul? Every day we come across the people who feel like this leper, outcast, alone, untouched. What if you could be the person to call out the imago Dei in them? You could say you have value and here is why... The goal this week is to practice calling out the masterpiece. It does not matter, who, what when or, where just see the value in people and tell them. 1. Reminders again create reminders in your day 5. Look at who is around you and what they are doing. Ask God how do you see this person. 3. call it out. You do not need to make a speech, just encourage people with positive and affirming statements. 4. write down names and how you called out imago dei the image of God note the reactions you get how would it change you to become a person who constantly called out the masterpiece in others? try to go to the hurting, walk to people do not just wave.

Luke 10:1 After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. So you have gotten this far, you have probably got to know the heart of Jesus. reflect on his attitudes and actions toward your family, friends and neighbours. You are likely to feel overwhelmed. Consider this: Jesus never sent anyone alone on a mission. When he sent out the twelve, he sent them two by two. Jesus, what’s you to be a messenger of his Grace to your network, but he doesn’t want you to do it alone? This week you will be encouraged to find others to share their experiences with and hopefully together from the core of a new Network of Christ-followers, restoring the world around them. 1. Prayer a. before Jesus chose, he spent two nights in prayer. This example is an important one to follow, as inviting others is one of the most important things we do. start by telling God what is on your heart, express what you think he what’s you to do. b. You may already have people in mind. Write down their names. Then ask God to bring people to mind that he would want you to invite on this adventure. Add their names to your list too. c. Spend a few days praying over your list. Ask God to prepare them to hear your heart and invitation. 2. Have a Plan Sharing a vague idea makes people excited, but inactive. Sharing a plan invites people to be part of making it happen. a. if you can introduce people to this challenge, it may help b. set a time and place and invite them to join you in discussing the challenge 3. Make the ask This is where courage comes in. It will help to remember that you aren’t just asking people to join you; you are asking them to join Jesus in what he wants to do through them. a. Tell a story. Is there some event or experience that God used to grab your heart and compel you to be all in? That is the “why”. Telling it will help others connect other people’s hearts to yours b. Paint a pitcher { an inviting one} There is a real future God has put in your heart. The picture is the “where” it should make people what to go there. c. Describe the steps simple ones, there is a way to get from where you are to where God is calling you to go. The steps are how to describe them, and give people steps to take. d. There is something you what people to say yes to, and this is the “What” Ask boldly and invite people to say yes and do it with confidence. 2. Act In the next _____days, I will invite_____ People to join me in exploring how we can restore the world around us by demonstrating the attitude and actions of Jesus. 3. Assess Where are the people God put on your mind a surprise to you? How did you feel about asking? How did you feel about people’s responses? How will your journey be different because you invited others to join you?
